In preparation for Mi’kmaq Language Day, students have been practicing the new words/phrases of the day. Any student who is “caught” using the Mi’kmaq word instead of the English word will receive a ballot that will go into a special draw. Some of the words/phrases that are the focus of this week are: Kwe’/Hello, Me’ tal-wuleyn?/How are you?, Nmultus/See you later, Wela’lin/Thank you (singular), Wela’lioq/Thank you (plural), etc.
In addition, Ms. Elle’s Elementary Mi’kmaq Language class have been creating mini posters to support our language.
