October was a month-long opportunity for us to revisit and renew our understanding of our Treaties. It also gave us an opportunity to reaffirm our rights, culture and traditions as a proud Mi’kmaq nation. It was also a very “treat-filled month”, starting with Thanksgiving and ending with Halloween. Thank you to our kitchen staff for the delicious turkey dinner.
This year will be a bit different because in the past, I would be busily preparing for our Scholastic Book Fair. Unfortunately, due to Covid protocols, it is not possible for us to participate this year. Hopefully, we can reschedule it for March 2021.
Now we are entering November. This is a month to reflect and celebrate those brave men and woman who worked so hard to protect our country. My family and I will be remembering my husband’s grandfather and father, along with my Godfather, on Remembrance Day. Lest we forget!!
