March 2021 Note…

Hello All,

Can you believe March is here!? Before we know it the grass will be growing, flowers will be blooming and we will have thrived through another winter, in the middle of a pandemic no less! Students are looking forward to our upcoming carnival week. Like most things this year, it will look a little different but we as a staff have put our heads together to come up with some really fun themes and activities. The kids deserve to have as much fun this carnival than any other one.

Grade 3s have started working with non fiction texts in literacy and they are loving it. They like sharing their knowledge of the animals we have been reading about but they also enjoy learning new things. We are also learning about how text features can help us navigate through non fiction texts. Ask your kids about some of the cool facts they have learned about some animals.

In Math, we are working with 2 and 3 digit numbers and learning different strategies for adding and subtracting. They enjoy playing the games and watching the videos that help solidify some of these concepts in fun ways.

That’s all for now!
