November 2020 Note…

Kwe’/Hi,

October has been a busy month for both students and staff, adjusting to school routines and celebrating Treaty Day, Thanksgiving and Mi’kmaq history month. I completed administering the Test of Preschool Literacy (TOPEL) to the Primary students for the Martin Family Initiative (MFI), and the CAT-4 to grades 1 to 4 with Kelly Oliver. In November I will complete administering some math and reading assessments to support students program planning. After the tests are completed I will start seeing resource students on a regular basis, supporting them in their literacy and math skills. I am really looking forward to working with the students and supporting their academic growth.

I would encourage parents/guardians to communicate with their child’s classroom teacher any concerns they may have pertaining to their child’s school success. Parents/Guardians and classroom teachers can refer a child for program planning to assist in identifying the child’s strengths and needs.

If you have any questions or concerns pertaining to the program planning process or elementary resource, please feel free to contact me at the school.

Wela’lin/Thank you,
Ms. Leslie Paul
